Jerome County Maintenance Worker

  1. SUPERVISION

    Performs tasks independently under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. Duties will be performed at the Jerome County Sheriff's Office in both Administration and Detention.  

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintain and repair all building and equipment in both Administration and Detention facilities.
    • Assist janitorial staff as needed.
    • Maintain and replace door locks and closers as needed to maintain access and security.
    • Supervise work crews involved with building, equipment, and grounds maintenance.
    • Quarterly HVAC filter changes and kitchen air handler maintenance

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Ability to work at heights and tight spaces.
    • Ability to lift/move objects up to and more than 100lbs.
    • Ability to be flexible and work on other County property and projects as needed.
    • Ability to learn skills as needed.
    • Ability of to read, write and understand basic mathematics.
    • Ability to conduct a pre-employment drug screen.
    • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical and mechanical (HVAC and equipment)
    • Knowledge of kitchen appliances, painting, drywall, and masonry
    • Knowledge of general groundskeeping and equipment operation

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Must have a valid Idaho driver’s license.
